SOBAT CILIK (“Sadar Obat Bersama Apoteker Cilik” or “Medication Awareness with Little Pharmacist”) 2024

Community service activities with the theme “SOBAT CILIK (Sadar Obat Bersama Apoteker Cilik or Medication Awareness with Little Pharmacist)” in Sengon Village, Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia, by Master of Pharmacy Management Students of Gadjah Mada University were conducted on February 5, 2025. The activity was attended by 15 students from 5th and 6th grade of SDN 3 Sengon. Before delivering the material to the children, a pre-test was conducted first to measure the children’s knowledge. SOBAT CILIK is a community service activity that focuses on introducing the pharmacist profession, drug classification, types of drug preparations, and the principles of DAGUSIBU (Get, Use, Store, and Dispose of Drugs in the Right Way) in a fun way to form children who are “Medication Aware.”

While delivering the material, the children actively and enthusiastically listened and answered questions. After providing the material, the children were taught the song and dance “Jingle Apoteker Cilik” and “DAGUSIBU.” In this activity, the selection of Apocil (Apoteker Cilik or Little Pharmacist) was also carried out using “Flashcard SOBAT CILIK”, where the children were given questions using flashcard that had been prepared. From the game, five children were selected with the most correct answers as Apocil and were given an Apocil trophy.

Lastly, the children were given a post-test using the same questions as in the pre-test. The evaluation results showed an increased knowledge of the material presented, reaching 86.67% (13 out of 15 students). Based on the minimum value set, which was 70, the number of students who passed reached 86.67% (13 students), which was an increase in knowledge of 8 out of 10 students (80%) who scored below the standard of 70 in the pre-test. This passing rate shows the success of the “SOBAT CILIK (Sadar Obat Bersama Apoteker Cilik)” activity in increasing students’ basic knowledge about the pharmacist profession, drug classification, types of drug preparations, and DAGUSIBU.

The results of the activity evaluation questionnaire also showed that they enjoyed this educational activity, and most students were interested in becoming pharmacists. Based on the questionnaire, the most preferred activities were answering flashcard questions and dancing to the Apocil jingle. This shows that the flashcards attracted students’ interest in the educational process regarding the Pharmacist profession, drug classification, types of drug preparations, and DAGUSIBU.
