KEREN (“Kenali dan Manfaatkan Program Pembiayaan Kesehatan JKN” or “Get to Know and Take Advantage of the JKN Health Financing Program”) 2024

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the Master of Pharmacy Management (MMF 2024) students conducted a Community Service Program at the Sengon Village Hall, Prambanan Subdistrict, Klaten Regency, Central Java. The program, titled KEREN (“Kenali dan Manfaatkan Program Pembiayaan Kesehatan JKN” or “Get to Know and Take Advantage of the JKN Health Financing Program”), aimed to educate the public about the importance of utilizing the health services available through the National Health Insurance (JKN) program to improve their health and well-being.

The event took place from 09:00 to 11:00 AM and was attended by 20 participants, primarily members of the Integrated Healthcare Center (Posyandu ILP) in Sengon Village, Klaten Regency. The session began with a presentation using PowerPoint slides, which covered essential information about JKN and BPJS Health, including an overview of the program, its benefits, and how to access its services. Each participant received a pocketbook on JKN health financing, designed to be practical and easy to carry. The pocketbook was divided into three sections: introduction, main content, and conclusion, and was written in simple, accessible language to ensure the public could easily understand it. The material was compiled from reliable sources and presented in a narrative style. A pretest was administered before the presentation and a posttest afterward to measure the participants’ understanding of the material. Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions about the JKN program. Additionally, a mini game titled “Oper Bola Berirama” was conducted to reinforce the material covered during the session in a fun and engaging way. Before the event concluded, a song titled “Belum Tahu” performed by the Director of BPJS Health in collaboration with the Rector of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), was played.

The event ran smoothly, with participants enthusiastically engaging from start to finish. Many actively participated in the Q&A session, asking questions about the JKN program and its benefits. It is hoped that through this program, participants gained a better understanding of JKN, including how to register and utilize its health services. Ultimately, the goal is for the community to take full advantage of the JKN program, improving their access to healthcare and enhancing their overall well-being. The KEREN 2024 program successfully achieved its objectives, leaving participants more informed and empowered to make the most of the health financing opportunities available to them.
